Position: Butchery Assistant

Location: Lilongwe & Blantyre

OVERVIEW

Ekhaya Farms Foods, a subsidiary of Ekhaya Group of Companies and a fast-growing retail food chain in Malawi, is seeking a vibrant, dedicated, and experienced individual to join our team in Lilongwe and Blantyre.

Key Requirements:

1. MSCE plus Certificate in Food Production, Meat Processing, Hospitality, or a related field will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a butchery, supermarket, abattoir, or meat processing environment.
3. Good knowledge of meat cutting, trimming, portioning, packaging, merchandising, and display techniques.
4. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling, storage, and preservation of meat products.
5. Ability to operate butchery equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
6. Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers with product selection and special requests.
7. Physically fit with the ability to work in cold environments and lift heavy products when required.
8. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
