Job Overview

The Project Officer will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities under the Shifting Identities and Rebuilding Communities Project, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and donor requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation of project activities in Mulanje in line with objectives and timelines
  • Lead beneficiary mobilization, selection, and verification in collaboration with community structures
  • Facilitate training for artisans and community members on construction and land rights
  • Engage government stakeholders to ensure coordinated project delivery
  • Support beneficiaries in securing legal land ownership
  • Conduct monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) activities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including donor reports
  • Manage project resources efficiently and ensure budget compliance
  • Work with finance teams to monitor expenditures and enforce controls
  • Identify challenges and implement solutions to meet project goals

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management and community development
  • Experience in housing or shelter-related programs is an added advantage
