Role Purpose

PAJO Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Finishing Foreman to supervise, coordinate, and execute all building finishing works on residential and commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all finishing activities are completed to the highest quality standards, within project timelines, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all building finishing works on construction sites.
  • Read and interpret architectural, structural, and finishing drawings.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate daily tasks to artisans and labourers.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure all finishes meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee plastering, skimming, rendering, and screeding works.
  • Supervise floor finishes, including ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, terrazzo, paving, and concrete finishes.
  • Oversee ceiling installations, including gypsum, PVC, suspended, and decorative ceilings.
  • Supervise painting, decorating, waterproofing, and surface preparation works.
  • Coordinate installation of doors, windows, ironmongery, glazing, and finishing hardware.
  • Supervise carpentry and joinery works, including kitchen units, wardrobes, cabinets, shelving, countertops, and other fitted furniture.
  • Oversee plumbing and sanitary fixture installation, including bathrooms, kitchens, water tanks, drainage systems, and accessories.
  • Coordinate electrical finishing works, including switches, sockets, light fittings, distribution boards, and final electrical fixtures.
  • Supervise external finishing works, including boundary walls, ornamental fencing, paving, landscaping, and external painting.
  • Inspect completed work, identify defects, and ensure timely rectification before handover.
  • Ensure efficient use of construction materials, tools, and equipment while minimizing wastage.
  • Prepare daily site progress reports and communicate project updates to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Enforce compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Construction Management, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • TEVET Certificate or equivalent qualification in Building Construction, Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, or related trades will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience supervising building finishing works on residential or commercial projects.
  • Sound knowledge of building materials, finishing techniques, and construction quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and site coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of construction hand and power tools.
  • Physically fit and willing to work on active construction sites.

Salary and Benefits

  • Starting Salary: MWK 200,000 – MWK 300,000 per month
  • Performance-based commission
