Position: Programme Officer Intern

Upkeep Allowance: MK170,000 per month

About

Green Innovations Center (GIC) is a youth-led organization in Malawi tackling plastic pollution, deforestation, and environmental degradation through innovation, recycling, environmental education, and green entrepreneurship.

GIC was founded in January 2024 and officially registered on 18 July 2025. The organization operates in Nalikule, Lilongwe, Malawi, promoting circular economy solutions and sustainable livelihoods.

We transform waste materials into valuable, eco-friendly products while creating green jobs, empowering youth and women, and supporting sustainable community development.

GIC invites applications from qualified, motivated, and committed young professionals for the following three-month internship position:

PROGRAMME OFFICER INTERN

Key Responsibilities:

1. Programme coordination and activity planning
2. Programme implementation tracking
3. Monitoring and evaluation
4. Report writing
5. Stakeholder communication
6. Data management
7. Preparation and organization of programme documentation and supporting evidence

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Environmental Management, Community Development, or a related field
2. Practical experience in programme/project coordination, reporting, documentation, monitoring, and evaluation is an added advantage
3. Candidates with a relevant diploma and at least three years of practical experience may also be considered
4. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
5. Good report-writing and communication abilities
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
