Moroccan Government Scholarships 2026/2027 Academic Year offered to Malawians

1. Basic Details

Offered by: Government of the Kingdom of Morocco through Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI)  

To: Government of the Republic of Malawi  

Academic Year: 2026/2027, commencing September 2026  

Total Scholarships: 130  

Distribution:

  1. University Education: 80 Scholarships
  2. Vocational Training: 30 Scholarships  
  3. Studies in Southern Provinces Universities: 20 Scholarships

2. Priority Areas of Study

2.1 University Education

  • Fields: Economics and Management, Education/Teaching and Human Development Studies, Socio-economic Development Studies, French Language and Literature Studies, English Language and Literature Studies, and other eligible programmes on AMCI website.

Quotas for specific programmes:

  • Medical Studies: 3
  • Paramedical Studies: 4
  • Business and Management Studies: 8
  • Architecture: 1
  • Engineering and Technological Sciences: 8
  • Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences: 1

Requirements: Must have 6 credits, including English, and must adhere to specific programme requirements.

2.2 Vocational Training Diplomas

  • Fields: Hotel and Tourism Management, Mechanics, Plumbing, Construction, Electrical, Tailoring and Design, Digital and Cinema Arts, Socio-Educational Agent, ICT Technician and other vocational training areas.

Requirements: Must have credits in English and Mathematics and one of: Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science or General Sciences. Those seeking to upgrade current qualifications may also apply.

3. What the Scholarship Covers

The Moroccan Government will meet:

  • Return Air Ticket
  • Tuition Fees
  • Medical Insurance
  • Student Allowance of $80 per month to cater for accommodation, meals, medical insurance and other incidentals

Note: Successful individual applicants and guardians are advised to provide own financial resources to top up living expenses not adequately covered by the scholarship as need arises.

Language: Teaching will be conducted in French. All successful applicants will undergo a one-year French Language Course before being enrolled. Applicants are advised to take French Language classes prior to departure for Morocco.

4. Public Servants

Eligible public servants must meet Government training policy requirements. In addition to general eligibility criteria, they must submit:

  1. PSR 19 Form
  2. Letter of Recommendation from Controlling Officer or Head of Institution certifying that the officer is on a Prioritized Training Plan.

5. General Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be Malawian
  • Age: 19-23 by September 2026 for Vocational Training and Under-Graduate Scholarships. For Post-Graduate, must not be more than 45 years old by September 2026
  • MSCE: Obtained no later than 2024 for Vocational Training and Under-Graduate. For Post-Graduate must have relevant Bachelors and Masters Certificate
  • Academic Transcript(s) for Post-Graduate applicants
  • Valid Passport. Those without should still apply but must immediately start the passport application process
  • National ID and Birth Certificate attached
  • Parents' details: Indicate occupation and dates of birth in application letter
  • Police Criminal Report and attach photocopy. Will be required to submit original to AMCI should they be successful
  • Medical Report and attach photocopy. Will be required to submit original to AMCI should they be successful
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae

Added advantage: Knowledge of French Language

6. Method of Application

Interested applicants must submit:

  • Letter of application stating clearly desired area of study, date of birth and contact phone number(s) Certified/authenticated copies of academic documents by a Commissioner of Oaths
